TREC Upcoming Events!

The TREC Tree Drive is an annual event held as part of our membership drive that allows community members to take home trees to plant on their property. Come by our office and take home trees for free or by donation! Learn about native trees and planting specifications through our planting guides.

This year we will be holding the TREC Annual Tree Drive June 25th, from 3pm to 5pm at the Trout River Environmental Committee Office, 575 Taylor rd. North Granville. These trees have been generously donated by Arbor Nursery and community members.

We ask that participants take a maximum of 4 trees unless otherwise stated at the event. Thank you to everyone that makes this event possible and we look forward to seeing you all there!

We are looking for volunteers to help plant large and small trees July 4th, from 10am to 12pm. We will be meeting at the Stanley Bridge WI Hall, 4697 St Marys Rd, Stanley Bridge, and driving to the Schoolhouse lane site together. This project is funded by Tree Canada.

Please wear appropriate footwear, clothing and bring water. Shovels and gloves will be provided but bring your own if you would like! Registration is required, please use this link to sign up: https://forms.gle/5VwZyWHUNDew9nDP9

This year’s site is located in the buffer of the main branch of Anderson’s Creek. TREC is currently transitioning the space into a community green space, including trails and planting.

This event is part of the Rural Beautification Society, Native Planting and Biodiversity project. This project encourages gardeners to plant native and improve gardens for wildlife. On July 18th, 10am-11am TREC will walk you through our native plant garden, located within the Devil’s Punchbowl Trail, and go over options for native planting in your garden, and the benefits of these species.

Registration is required for this event as space is limited. Please use this link to register: https://forms.gle/t76NMriJMrf6Cdwk7
