Bat Week – Oct 24th to 31st

Here at TREC we love bats, and we want to hear why you and your kids love them too! This week is Bat Week, and to celebrate we want to see your beautiful complete colouring sheets, hear what you like about bats, and one thing bats do for the environment.

There are three colouring sheets to choose from, you can download the full sized colouring sheets below and colour away!

Send a picture of your finished colouring sheet and answered questions to us on Facebook or email the picture to by October 30th to have your drawing and answers featured on our social media on Halloween day!

Multiple submissions are welcome, we look forward to hearing your answers and seeing your finished colouring sheets. Stay tuned for some informational posts on bats this week as we celebrate Bat Week.

TREC walking trails are being cleared

Shayla and Sarah take a break while clearing the Riverbend Trail

The trails in the Devil’s Punchbowl are now partly open, following Hurricane Fiona. After a day of help from the PEI Watershed Alliance, some help from three former employees, and a Saturday working with eleven volunteers, we have the parking lot and the Riverbend trail open and part of the other trails too. Please exercise caution, and don’t try to go beyond the areas that we have cleared. Trout River Park is open, but the ends of the trail have some leaning trees so please avoid those areas until we have them cleared. We are planning another volunteer cleanup day, so do contact us if you are able to help. A huge thank you to the volunteers who have helped out so far!
