It’s that time of year again where road salt is being widely used across the Island. Although road salt does a wonderful job of preventing accidents on the roads, and slips and falls around the home, it can also have adverse impacts on the environment. TREC and The Wheatley River Improvement Group would like to raise awareness of the impacts of road salt on Prince Edward Island watersheds, in hopes of spurring meaningful change, and a shift in de-icing practices.
